Saddam trial

Al-Sabah (no permalink) is reporting on the alleged attack in court against Saddam Hussein; although it seems to be a “machine translation” from their Arabic edition, it is easy to get the general gist:

Last Thursday, biased and exaggerated news talked about carrying an (attack) on the charge Saddam has exposed after his interrogation in the special criminal court. The news was a disgusting and disapproval at the same time. But Iraqis soon realized the real reason of such news and knew the exact sense of publishing news at this specific time, since it was reported from Jordanian lawyers while they formerly asked to transmit the trial to a European state…

His lawyers are trying to do a “Milosovic” but, as Mowaffak A-Rubaie, the Iraqi Security Advisor, declared recently on CNN, the court will concentrate on the criminal side of Saddam’s actions and no political rhetoric (i.e.: bullshit) from the defense will be accepted.
