Annan has chosen to remain in place - for the time being - rejecting the results of the Independent Inquiry Committee lead (and whitewashed) by Volcker on the Oil for Food scandal. Anyone with a shred of dignity would have resigned long ago; by not doing so, Annan has lost any authority he might have had. I would therefore strongly recommend that he abstains from commenting on world affairs or on anything else until either he resigns or his mandate expires.
