Apart from the easy jokes “will Paris withdraw its troops from Iraq now?” that have become a bit tired (although they should still be hammered into the thick brains of many journalists), this, coming one day after the French Special Police force exercise in the same location, is puzzling:
The Eiffel Tower has been evacuated following an anonymous bomb threat, according to reports. Authorities cleared visitors and workers from the area after a Paris police station received a threatening telephone call.
